This teaching area is constructed with a timber frame, in-filled with straw bales, lime plastered, with a thatched roof.

Repaired building
The central timber post was rotten to just below the lower thatched roof. When taken out the rotten wood had been infested with stag beetles.

The central post was replaced with a new section scarf jointed to the upper section.

Client: London Wetland Centre

Contractor: Kevin Gear
