The lantern light to the roof was destroyed during a storm in 2007. It was agreed with the Conservation Officer that the structure of this was beyond repair.

The four storey superintendents house had been converted for use as an office and many of the original Georgian features were damaged, however not destroyed. It has been therefore possible to reconstruct the interior authentically.
