Milking Lane Stables
Conversion of listed stables, Milking Lane, Leaves Green, Bromley.

ImageCurtilage listed as part of Old House Farm, this non-used agricultural building has been transformed into a four bedroomed house. Originally, I was the professional witness for the then owner at the planning appeal, after initial refusal.

On gaining planning permission and listed building consent, this building has been converted to meet with the current building regulation requirements.

The work on site included:

- Underpinning of the existing walls
- Injected DPC into existing walls
- The intrduction of diaphragm walls to improve stability
- Dry lining internally
- Roof stengthening as the original agricultural roof did not comply with current standards

ImageThe objections to planning were based on the difficulty to successfully achieve completion of the works. However, these works were completed successfully, and happily the house has now been sold.
